Ahiyaniwa (Taino)

Miyari datiyawono (hello, my friends)! I'm a Cuban-American historical linguist, and this is my revived version of Taino, which I call Ahiyaniwa Taino, or Ahiyaniwa for short. Classic Taino was an indigenous Arawakan language of the Caribbean, but it's not well attested. Combining what's known of Taino with roots from its closest relatives, such as Lokono and Wayuu, I am creating Ahiyaniwa for Taino descendants like me or anyone else interested. There are many (unimpressive) Taino revival projects, but mine strives to maintain a stronger Arawakan foundation in its morphology, grammar, and syntax while also simplifying the Arawak morphology for ease of acquisition. Ahiyaniwa is still in its early stages, but I'm adding new words and resources every day! Hahõ kena taiyakowa (thank you and take care)!
