IPA Transcriber

An interactive widget that translates whole sentences in your conlang into International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) in real-time as you type.

Features

• Dual-layer transcription:
  1. Dictionary lookup: First, it attempts to find exact matches for complete words in your dictionary.
  2. Phonology fallback: If a word isn't in your dictionary, it falls back to a character-by-character translation using your phonology symbols.
• Smart matching: Longer phonological symbols (like sh or ch) are matched first to prevent incorrect split-character translations.
• Interactive breakdowns: Shows a word-by-word visual breakdown below the transcription so you can see exactly where each translation came from (Dictionary, Phonology etc).
• Theme-aware UI: Adapts automatically to light or dark themes to match your LingoCon interface seamlessly..
