Punctuation is repeated at the beginning and end of every sentence. Alanio, like Atlaniat, uses the same punctuation signs as Spanish/English when written.
Questions
Question order is generally Question Word + Subject + Verb + Object
The beginning of a question is noted with the hand sign and often a verbal cue of "áf/áv" or "you/you all." This is used to gesture towards the person being asked the question and show that they need to respond. The verbal cue is sometimes removed when conversation takes place at close proximity between only two people.
A question ends with the hand sign "à." This is a gesture that acts as a command to "start" or "go." It suggests that the speaker is passing off the question to the person they are asking. The ending sign is not ever spoken.
