Ancient Nortesk changed a lot over 2000 years. This lists the changes happening in the language before the 1717 Nortesj Convention after independence that established a new standard.

Most changes occurred in the spoken language, with the written not changing.

The changes in order are:

-The progressive and perfect past forms were dropped.

-Only the last vowel in verbs changed.

-The definite article te got hooked onto the end of prepositions.

-Word final e is dropped.

-The number system changed to be mostly 20/5.

-nk and ng clusters become realised as nj.

-sk / -sg / -zk / -zg become post-alveolar fricatives -sj and -zj.

-ts / -tz / -ds / -dz become post-alveolar affricates -tj and -dj.

-hv clusters lose the h.

These are all major changes before the 1717 convention. This convention added a genitive ending (-nj), added particles to verbs, revamped the pronoun system entirely, and dropped all word class restrictions.
