Dialects
In Fálanúr, ní eTra /niː ˈɛðra/ (the circles) have different expertise and responsibilities. Each circle has its own dialect. The dialects affect some vowels and consonants, but can also be detected in the sentiment. What words one tend to emphasize, what pronunciation of a consonant they use for a specific word, offers a clue as to which circle they belong to.
u / ú
u / ú is the most changeable sound. In standard Chílanoth, the one spoken by the Tutor's circle, the u is pronounced like /ʊ/ and the ú is pronounced like /uː/, but depending on the dialect, they may swap the sounds in certain word, or even sound like an /ɵ/. Depending on which u is used in what word, it may indicate what dialect someone is speaking.
i / í / y / ý
In some dialects, the y sound can sound like i. This goes for both long and short i and y.
C
In standard Chílanoth, all C sounds are pronounced /ɕ/. In some dialects, however, it may sound like a /ʃ/. (Disclaimer: "tC" is pronounced /t͡ʃ/ and not /t͡ɕ/)
