About the People and the Place
the term Hlethoanim is an umbrella term used to refer to a group of closely related ethnic groups who all speak the same language: the people of the Plateau (the Central Hlethoanim), the people of the Waterside (the Nlikhrolyoim or the Westerners, 'nłixrołu'ⵀ'im' in Diceroll), the people of the Mountains (the Ngrulaim or the Northerners, "qrula'im" in Diceroll) , and the people of the Escarpment (the Iretusilim or the Southerners, "iretusił'im" in Diceroll). All of these people say they and their fellow Hlethoanim are descended from the legendary First Quadrilateral.
There is also a region that is completely uninhabited expect for animals: the Forbidden Roundlands of the East ("kewacoryu" in Diceroll)!
In the Roundlands, there is a giant, circular lake called the Circular Sea in the middle of a caldera, where the legendary Great Circle sleeps.
Past the Circular Sea, there is a region of rolling hills where nobody lives.
Their names usually reflect characteristics which were predicted by foreseers. Their surnames are patronymic.
Once, the ancestors built a series of square portals leading to our universe, leading to cultural inspiration and loanwords into Diceroll from various cultures.
Although they loathe circles and round edges, they are okay with nature (since they accept that they can't change their shape.)
