Palatization of plosives
1 min read · 52 words
The letters C, G, D, T palatize before the vowels E, I and the semivowel J.
C and G go from velar plosives to postalveolar affricates, respectively t͡ʃ and d͡ʒ.
D and T simply undergo a process of affrication, therefore they go from alveolar plosives to alveolar affricates, respectively d͡z and t͡s.
