### Type 1: Nouns ending in a Vowel

For nouns ending in a vowel, we add precise endings to keep the melody of the word.

Example word: *veli** (friend)

| Case | Ending | Nalarian Word | Pronunciation (IPA) | Meaning |

| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |

| Nom | — | veli | [veli] | a friend |

| Gen | -s | velis | [velis] | of a friend |

| Acc | -m | velim | [velim] | a friend (object) |

### Type 2: Nouns ending in a Consonant For nouns ending in a consonant, we insert an extra vowel "a" before the case suffix to avoid ugly and unpronounceable consonant clusters.

Example word: *nalat** (originally nalad - land/country)

| Case | Ending | Nalarian Word | Pronunciation (IPA) | Meaning |

| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |

| Nom | — | nalat | [nalat] | a country |

| Gen | -as | nalatas | [nalatas] | of a country |

| Acc | -am | nalatam | [nalatam] | a country (object) |
