Word Building

1 min read · 142 words

Neyan language has pretty clear structure of word building:

(Prefix) + root + (suffix) + ending + (*post-ending)

*Post-endings are available only for nouns to make out of them adjectives of possession. There is only one post-ending "р" (r)

Endings define the part of speech of every word. They are:

  1. e (e) — singular noun

  2. l (i) — plural noun

  3. u (u) — verb

  4. o (o) — adjective

  5. əvɾ/evɾ (avg/evg) — indefinite part of speech

Roots as you could got it define the meaning of each word. For example:

  • Zɔɾəv — smth connected with health or greetings

  • П̊əп̊ — smth connected with father

  • 6eм — when we are talking about smth good

Prefixes and suffixes change or complement words, like:

  • Voрce (work) + eр (suffix of people) = Voрceрe (worker)

  • Esu (to be) + п̊ре (prefix of the past) = П̊рееsu (was/were)
