Evolution from English to Proto-Tesconian

RandomLanguagesApril 14, 2026

355 PFA (Pre-Freedom Era) - Silent letters marked with diacritic (e.g. ë, ä, ü)

321 PFA - The letter Q becomes used exclusively for /kw/ sounds, for example, "question" becomes "qestion". Any Q without an attached U instead becomes a C or a K.

293 PFA - "oo" becomes "uu"

287 PFA - Word-final vowels disappear from some words and word-final consonants disappear from some others. The quantity of words that do not undergo one of these changes is much greater than those that do.

259 PFA - "y" becomes both a consonant and a vowel: consonant with no diacritic, vowel with "ŷ" diacritic

242 PFA - Consonant "y", alongside in rare circumstances "e", starts becoming "æ" in some words. A dialect spoken by the inedible items resists this change, marking the first big divergence within the dialect that will eventually become Inediblish.

234 PFA - Long syllables are marked by placing a "^" symbol after them.

225 PFA - Inediblish dialect begins phasing out the silent ë. In the main language the opposite happens: some silent ës become regular es.

212 PFA - The letter "ŷ" begins also representing "e" sounds. A dialect spoken by the sweet items instead opts to instead use an i to replace the e in the words in which these changes happen.

201 PFA - "ee" becomes "ŷe", but not in Inediblish, where it instead becomes "ii".

189 PFA - In Inediblish, the pluralization changes. It is now "-ist", and you must remove the singular version's last letter should the last letter be a vowel.
