Tailaa (/ˈtai̯laː/) is a Sylvan Faeic language of the Faeo-Dryadic branch of the Elvic language family spoken by Tailaa Fae (Tailauea), whom dwell in the northeastern forested lands of the Continent. It is directly a descendent from Liríannëa, a Faeic language that served as the liturgical language of the Empire of Ljalínevalha. Standard Tailaa is the lingua franca of Fae and on a broader scale many Elvic peoples. Tailaa is agglutinative and uses almost exclusively suffixal affixation. Nouns, pronouns, and verbs are inflected by role in sentences. Sentences are normally formed with subject–object–verb word order, although the extensive use of inflection allows them to be ordered differently. Word order variations are often reserved for differences in information structure. Tailaa orthography is written in Nariadil script (/ˈnarjaˌdil/), an alphabetic system used to write many Faeic languages, phonemic to a great extent. Vowel length and consonant length are marked.
