Calutan uses a script (Copaþ) which is an abugida.
Alphabet
In alphabet order, vowels come after consonants. i (sometimes j in romanization) is both a vowel and a consonant.
The order is:
p (b) c d h þ l m n s v ź (ŋ) z q (g) r x s t a i e o ö u ē
Foreign letters are in (parentheses) and are only used for loanwords.
Phonotactics
(C)V(C)(C)
Words cannot end with more than one consonants
Most syllabes are CV but sometimes consonant clusters form at the end of syllabes
No words end with <s>
llegal end clusters are pushed back to form a cluster with the previous consonant if there is a vowel in between; otherwise, <u> is added at the end
e.g. "Pagus Septimus" is loaned as "Pagsu Septimu"
