2.1 The ordinary sentence
Čago uses SVO order for ordinary statements.
English example: I see the house.
The same order, subject followed by verb followed by object, is the standard for Čago statements.
2.2 Indirect objects
When a sentence contains a recipient and something being given, the recipient comes before the thing.
English example: I give you a book.
The recipient is “you”, and the thing being given is “a book”.
2.3 Adverbs
Adverbs normally appear after the verb.
An adverb gives more information about an action, such as how, when or where it happens.
English example: “She speaks quietly.”
The adverb “quietly” follows the verb “speaks”.
2.4 Emphasis and flexible word order
Čago expresses emphasis mainly through spoken stress. A speaker can place extra emphasis on a particular word.
Word order may also be adjusted slightly for poetry or emphasis, but ordinary statements should retain SVO order.
