Even nowadays, there is still much debate as to whether the Martian biological sexes (Shout and Jiapkiou) are equivalent to the human male and female sexes. In Kuapianese, these are considered biological sexes that are entirely distinct from those found on Earth. Consequently, separate pronouns have been established for men and women, as well as for Shout and Jiapkiou. For this reason, specific pronouns for Martians also exist in English: Ki (for Shout) and Gee (for Jiapkiou).
Martian singular | Martian plural | Human singular | Human plural | |
1º Person | Kéu | Kéumoen | Méu (I/Me) | Méumoen (We) |
2º Person | Téu | Téumoen | Tou (You) | Toumoen (Plural version of "you") |
3º Person | Géu | Géumoen | Hia (He/him) | Hiamoen (They) |
3º Person | Geuuá | Geuuámoen | Shia (She/her) | Shiamoen (Female version of "they") |
To top it all off, we have people who identify with "Martian" pronouns. Something that, from a human perspective, is viewed in an appallingly negative light. It’s a good thing we aren’t living in wartime; otherwise, this could be a reason for execution.
