How to Help the Spanglish Project
I detest conlangs. The best language is supposed to be natural and chosen, not planned. It's a social activity that is the composite of all speakers' personal decisions, owned by no one, and freely changing whether some academy likes it or not. That's why I am only reluctantly constructing Spanglish because it seems like too good of an idea to pass up. To that end, I would like Spanglish to be as unconstructed as possible. Speak it, and see what happens. See what's easiest to understand, to express, to teach. The value of Spanglish isn't its lexicon, but its corpus.
To that end, I am inviting English and Spanish speakers, especially monolingual English and Spanish speakers to experience this language and give their suggestions and observations. I want this language to be as easy as possible for monolinguals and I - with a native understanding of English and a basic understanding of Spanish - have the curse of knowledge about what is easy to understand for which speaker. I've tried to balance the difficulty of Spanglish for speakers of both languages, but I need to know for sure from the speakers that I want to help understand each other.
That's why if you'd like to help with the adaption and promotion of Spanglish, please join our discord or leave a comment. For discord, look for the speech bubble icon next to the "PUBLIC" label or go here: https://discord.gg/2W2Jv9dBf8
