There are two inflections that can modify a noun into either a plural or mass noun

A noun is plural when talking about two things or more. The regular rule to inflect nouns in plural is adding a mute s at the end of the word.

If the word already ends with an s, we add an e after the s.

If the word ends with a vowel, we add the s before the e.

A mass noun is used when referring to an object, concept, species. etc... as a whole/the whole thing. We could compare this to saying the book vs books in English.

The regular rule to inflect nouns in mass form is to add a mute o at the end
