noun phrase

1 min read · 112 words

A noun phrase is a group of words centered around a noun, called the main part.

A noun can be alone in his noun phrase, but it generally has a determiner before the main part. An adjective can also be put before and after the main part, as well as a prepositional phrase can.

In a noun phrase, the noun is the agreement donor, but, unlike in French where the noun agrees in gender and number, the noun only agrees in number, except when talking about a living creature that got two genders.

There are multiple ways to make a complete noun phrase. You can put an conjunction and another noun phrase.
