Chikaran nouns use a regular agglutinative suffix system. Grammatical information is added directly to the noun stem, with each suffix having a specific function. Chikaran has no grammatical gender or noun classes, and all nouns follow the same general pattern.
The basic noun suffix order is:
STEM → POSSESSIVE → CASE → PLURAL INDICATOR
Chikaran uses six noun cases based on the Turkish case system:
Nominative, Accusative, Dative, Locative, Ablative, and Genitive.
The nominative is the unmarked base form. Other cases are formed by adding their appropriate suffix to the noun. Plural marking occurs at the end of the suffix chain when required.
Example:
habit-an-tseroom-1SG.POSS-LOC
“in my room”
