Chikaran verbs use a highly regular, agglutinative system. Grammatical information is added to the verb stem through suffixes, with each suffix having a specific function. All verbs follow the same general pattern, with no irregular conjugations.
The current verb suffix order is:
STEM → NEGATION → TENSE/ASPECT → OBJECT/PERSON
Example:
tal-en-ge
say-NEG-PAST
→ “did not say”
Personal objects may also be expressed through suffixes attached directly to the verb:
kara-i
love-2SG.OBJ
→ “love you”
Verb suffixes follow a fixed order and cannot normally be rearranged.
