Syntax
Chikaran primarily follows Subject–Object–Verb (SOV) word order. However, Chikaran is a pro-drop language, meaning subject pronouns may be omitted when the subject is already clear from context or verb morphology. Pronouns may still be used for clarity or emphasis.
Chikaran has no copula (“to be”). Identity and descriptive statements are formed without a separate verb equivalent to English am, is, or are.
Modifiers generally appear before the words they modify, while grammatical relationships are primarily expressed through Chikaran's regular system of affixes.
Basic structure:
(SUBJECT) → OBJECT → VERB
Parentheses indicate that the subject may be omitted when understood.
