Translation of a text on the topic: "The physiological processes of birth and life"

Alexander LenskyApril 10, 2026201 words

English text:

Human life begins at the moment of conception, followed by a period of intrauterine development. For nine months, the mother carries (gestates) the fetus, which actively grows and matures. When the organism becomes viable, childbirth begins.

With the first breath, the newborn starts to breathe independently, and their digestive system begins to assimilate (absorb) nutrients. Throughout life, the body maintains homeostasis: the heart pulsates steadily, blood circulates through the vessels, and metabolic processes convert energy. During puberty, the body begins to develop rapidly, reaching a mature state. Over time, cells regenerate more slowly, and the organism gradually ages (senesces), which is the natural conclusion of the biological cycle.
