Verb Tense and Conjugation
Ekspi verbs do not change according to the person or number of the subject. The same verb form is used with all personal pronouns.
The basic verb form ends in -es.
Tense is expressed using separate auxiliary verbs rather than changing the main verb.
Present: no auxiliary is used.
Past: da is placed before the main verb.
Future: va is placed before the main verb.
Examples:
eu somes
I eat.
tu somes
You eat.
peo da somes
He ate.
pea da somes
She ate.
ulo va somes
We will eat.
The main verb remains unchanged regardless of the subject or tense. Only the auxiliary changes when expressing past or future tense.
