The passive voice

The passive voice in LPQR is formed in two ways: The passive voice of perfective verbs is formed using the partial, a form corresponding to the short form of the passive past participle in Russian. The partial is used in three phrase forms:
1. When it indicates the result of an action that took place in the past:
Dom bǐl postroijen ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house was built by a well-known construction company. |
2. When it indicates the result of an action that took place in the past, but this result remains at the moment of speech:
Dom postroijen ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house is built by a well-known construction company. |
3. When it indicates the result of an action that will take place in the future:
Dom budjet postroien ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house will be built by a well-known construction company. |
The passive voice of imperfective verbs is formed using the postfix -sja. In this case, the passive voice, like the active voice, has three tenses: past, present, and future:
Dom stroilsja ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house was being built by a well-known construction company. |
Dom stroitsja ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house is being built by a well-known construction company. |
Dom budjet stroitjsja ot izvjestnǐj kompania po stroitjeljstvo | The house will be being built by a well-known construction company. |
As was already indicated earlier, the real subject of the action in a sentence with a passive voice is designated by the preposition "ot"
Quasi-perfective verbs can form the passive voice in two ways:
Patient bǐl obsljedovan ot vrači | The patient had been examined by doctors |
Patient obsljedovan ot vrači | The patient has been examined by doctors |
Patient budget obsljedovan ot vrači | The patient will be examined by doctors |
Patient obsljedovalsja ot vrači | The patient was being examined by doctors |
Patient obsljedovatsja ot vrači | The patient is being examined by doctors |
Patient budjet obsljedovatjsja ot vrači | The patient will be being examined by doctors |
